A long corridor: why your stretch of Sinhagad Road matters
Sinhagad Road is less a single neighbourhood than a spine with neighbourhoods hanging off it. A tutor in Anand Nagar is a short ride from families in Hingne Khurd and Manik Baug, but a long one from Narhe on the Pune-Satara bypass side or from the far end of Nanded City. Writing just “Sinhagad Road” tells a tutor very little.
Give your sub-area and a landmark everyone knows, such as Fun Time at Manik Baug or the Nanded City gate, and post your requirement from your actual address. That way the tutors who appear first are the ones on your stretch, not someone at the other end of the road.
State Board and CBSE: home tuition on Sinhagad Road by board
As across most of Maharashtra, many children here study in Maharashtra State Board schools, in English, Marathi or semi-English medium. Alongside them there is a good spread of CBSE schools along the corridor. Those on CBSE's own affiliation register include Sinhgad Spring Dale Public School at Vadgaon Budruk, Helios International School on Sun City Road in Anand Nagar, Eureka International School at Dhayari, Abhinav English School at Narhe, Sinhgad Spring Dale School at Ambegaon Budruk and Pawar Public School in Nanded City.
Semi-English is worth mentioning up front. A child who studies Maths and Science in English and other subjects in Marathi often needs a tutor who can explain a concept in plain Marathi or Hindi first and then use the English terms the exam expects. Ask about this at the demo. Note that TutorUp lists subjects such as Maths and Science, not Marathi as a subject.
For an SSC child heading into Class 10, our guide to SSC board exam preparation explains how to plan the year, and you can share it with the tutor you choose.
Traffic along the road: the flyover and the Metro works
The flyover from Rajaram Bridge to Fun Time opened on 1 September 2025 and has made that run much quicker for through-traffic. More change is on its way: a July 2026 report said Maha Metro was expected to begin construction along Sinhagad Road for the Khadakwasla-Kharadi line in the coming months, and that the Sun City to Karve Nagar flyover was about 80 per cent complete. Metro works usually bring barricades and diversions, and the effect is worst at the evening peak, when many families want tuition. Check current traffic advisories before you fix a timetable.
The simplest protection is a tutor from your own stretch who rides through the inner lanes rather than along the main road. For Class 10 or Class 12 families, agree a backup plan in advance, such as a weekend make-up session, so a bad week on the road does not cost revision time.
Older societies, new townships and gate entry
Housing along the corridor ranges from older co-operative societies nearer the city end, some without a staffed gate, to newer towers in Dhayari, Narhe and Ambegaon and the large gated township of Nanded City. In Nanded City or a newer tower, register the tutor as a regular visitor, whether your society uses MyGate, NoBrokerHood or a security desk, and tell them which entrance to use. In an older society with no watchman, be at home for the first few sessions.
Choosing a home tutor on Sinhagad Road
- Give your sub-area and landmark, not just “Sinhagad Road”.
- Name the board and the medium - English, Marathi or semi-English.
- For SSC Class 10, ask how the tutor uses past board papers and the current question pattern.
- Ask which route the tutor takes, and how it might change once Metro work begins.
- Meet the tutor at a demo before you agree fees, and read how verification works: it is an identity check, not a police or background check.
