Hinjewadi, also spelt Hinjawadi (the spelling on its new metro stations), is less one neighbourhood than a string of them along the Rajiv Gandhi Infotech Park, which MIDC built in three phases: Phase 1 nearest Wakad, Phase 2 beyond it, and Phase 3 out towards Maan, around the Megapolis township. Hinjewadi, Maan and Marunji are villages of Mulshi taluka, so many addresses here say Mulshi rather than Pune or Pimpri-Chinchwad. For a tutor search that makes no difference, because TutorUp goes by distance.
Home tutors in Hinjewadi and the IT park rush hour
Traffic around the IT park peaks twice on weekdays: roughly 8 am to noon as people arrive, and 5.30 pm to 8 pm as the phases empty towards Wakad, the Mumbai-Bengaluru highway and Marunji Road. A tutor riding in from Wakad in the evening peak can lose a lot of time at Bhumkar Chowk and Shivaji Chowk before they reach you.
So the shortlist that matters here is tutors who live on your side of the jam: inside the phases, in Hinjewadi Gaon, Maan or Marunji, or in the townships around them. If the closest tutor for your child's subject lives in Wakad or beyond, pick a slot outside both peaks: between the end of school and about 5 pm for younger children, after 8 pm for older students who can manage it, or weekend mornings when the IT park is quiet.
Pune Metro Line 3 will link Maan and the Hinjawadi Phase-I station with Wakad Chowk, Balewadi, Baner and Shivajinagar, and is being opened in stages. Check which stretch is actually running before you plan around it for a tutor who doesn't ride a two-wheeler.
Schools and boards around Hinjewadi
CBSE's affiliation directory lists several schools inside the IT-park belt: VIBGYOR High and Elpro International School in Phase 1, Pawar Public School at Megapolis in Phase 3, Crimson Anisha Global School in the Life Republic township at Marunji, and Ryan International Academy at Maan. If your child is at one of them, start with a tutor who works from NCERT books and knows CBSE's question patterns; our page on CBSE home tutors sets out what that support should include.
If your child is at an IB or Cambridge IGCSE school instead, you may see fewer tutors for those programmes than for CBSE, so post your requirement early in the term. Our IB vs IGCSE guide explains what to ask a tutor about coursework and internal assessment, not just exam papers.
Living in a township: the tutor who never meets the traffic
Hinjewadi has large townships, such as Megapolis in Phase 3 and Life Republic at Marunji, as well as gated complexes along the phases. In a township the walk from the main gate to a tower can take several minutes, so tell the tutor which gate to use and where visitors park before the first session.
Then check who lives inside the same township. A tutor who walks over from the next tower has no IT-park traffic to fight and no visitor parking to find, so a fixed slot is far easier to keep through the year, even in the 5.30 pm to 8 pm peak.
Choosing a home tutor in Hinjewadi: what to check
- Where they live and the route they will take at your session time: inside the phases, or in from Wakad through Bhumkar Chowk?
- Which board and textbooks they are teaching right now, and, if your child has recently moved here and switched boards, whether they have bridged that kind of switch before.
- What happens when either of you is stuck in traffic: how much notice, and how a missed session is made up.
- How they explain one recent mistake of your child's at the demo; our questions to ask a home tutor cover the rest.
