A mix of boards on one stretch
Dhanori and Vishrantwadi don't lean towards one curriculum. On the Lohegaon side, Kendriya Vidyalaya No. 2 at the Air Force Station follows CBSE, as every Kendriya Vidyalaya does. School directories list private CBSE and ICSE schools in Dhanori itself, and there are State Board schools across the area. Confirm the board with your child's school before you post a requirement.
That makes the board the first thing to settle, before the subject. A tutor strong in CBSE Class 9 Maths may frame chapters differently from the Maharashtra State Board textbook, and an ICSE student needs more written English than either. If your child is in a semi-English State Board class, learning Maths and Science in English and other subjects in Marathi, say so at the demo and ask the tutor to build up the English terms the SSC papers use. Air Force and Army postings: tuition after a move
Lohegaon Air Force Station, the GREF Centre at Dighi and the Khadki cantonment are all close to Vishrantwadi, so some families here arrive on a posting, sometimes mid-year. A child moving from one Kendriya Vidyalaya to another keeps the same CBSE syllabus and NCERT books, so a tutor mainly needs to catch up on chapters the old school hadn't reached. A child coming from a State Board elsewhere, or moving into a Dhanori ICSE school, can have bigger gaps, and English-heavy ICSE answers are usually the hardest adjustment.
Alandi Road, Airport Road and travel times
Vishrantwadi Chowk, where Tingre Nagar Road (the Vishrantwadi-Airport Road) meets Alandi Road, is the junction that decides many tutors' travel time here. A flyover at the chowk linking the two roads was approved in August 2024. Before agreeing a slot, ask a tutor coming from Yerawada, Khadki or Dighi how long the chowk takes at that hour.
- Alandi Road has a PMPML BRTS bus corridor, which helps tutors who don't ride a two-wheeler.
- Dhanori Road and Tingre Nagar Road are the other main roads, so ask which one the tutor will use and how long it takes at your slot time.
- Distances add up inside the area: Kalas and Mhaskewasti sit on the Alandi Road side, while Dhanori runs up towards Lohegaon. Check the actual route, not the straight-line distance.
- In the newer gated societies on the Dhanori side, add the tutor in the visitor app before the demo.
Choosing a home tutor in Dhanori or Vishrantwadi
- They teach your child's exact board: Kendriya Vidyalaya or private CBSE, ICSE, or State Board.
- For a semi-English student, they can explain terms in English and Marathi where needed.
- They live on your side of Vishrantwadi Chowk, or have checked the travel time at your slot.
- They have given a demo at your home with a parent present.
- You have agreed the fee and schedule directly with them.
