Home tuition in Aundh: check the board before anything else
Aundh is one of the older, more settled parts of west Pune, with an old village core at Aundh Gaon and housing that has grown steadily since the mid-1990s. Its schools reflect that range. DAV Public School on DP Road is CBSE up to Class 12, Kendriya Vidyalaya Ganeshkhind on the University Road side of Aundh is a central government CBSE school, and AW Sindhu Vidya Bhavan follows the Maharashtra State Board.
So in Aundh, never assume the board from the address. An SSC student needs a tutor who works from the Balbharati textbooks and knows the state board's paper pattern; a CBSE student needs someone fluent in NCERT. If your child is in Class 9 or 10, our SSC board exam preparation guide and the State Board tutors page explain what good support looks like, and the CBSE tutors page does the same for CBSE.
Kendriya Vidyalayas exist mainly for the children of central government and defence staff who move between cities, so some Aundh children join a new class mid-year. If that is your child, tell the tutor which chapters the old school had already covered. Two schools often teach the same syllabus in a different order, and a tutor who knows where the gaps are can close them without reteaching the whole term.
Where Aundh's nearest tutors come from
Aundh's position is its advantage. The university and Ganeshkhind are on one side, Baner and Pashan on the other, and Sangvi is just across Rajiv Gandhi Bridge over the Mula. Sangvi falls in Pimpri-Chinchwad, not Pune city, but a tutor there can be closer to a home near the bridge than one in Baner, and TutorUp's distance matching does not stop at the river.
Where in Aundh you live changes who is closest. A home near Aundh Gaon and the bridge is a short ride from Sangvi and Pimple Gurav; one off ITI Road or near Sanewadi is nearer the Pashan side; one near Bremen Chowk is closest to the university and to tutors coming out from Shivajinagar. Set your exact location in the app rather than just "Aundh".
Traffic around Parihar Chowk and the university road
Evening travel in Aundh slows at a few familiar points: Parihar Chowk and Bremen Chowk on the main Aundh road, the approach to University Chowk, and ITI Road. A tutor coming from Shivajinagar or across the bridge from Sangvi will often prefer a slot that misses the 6 to 7 pm rush.
If your child finishes school early, a 4.30 or 5 pm start can suit everyone. Otherwise, start after 7 pm, or move one session a week to a weekend morning.
Older buildings, bungalows and newer towers: setting up sessions
Aundh housing runs from bungalows in Sindh Society and older apartment buildings without a visitor app to newer gated complexes. In an older building, give the watchman the tutor's name and timings, and tell the tutor where they can park on the lane. In a newer tower, pre-approve them in MyGate or NoBrokerHood so they are not held at the gate.
Where there is no visitor app, nothing records who comes and goes, so keep your own note of the tutor's full name, phone number and the ID they showed you. TutorUp's team checks each tutor's identity before their profile goes live, but that check is not a police or background check, so sit in on the first few sessions and follow our home tutor safety checklist.
