Finding a home tutor in Baner for your child's board
Children in Baner go to school across a wide belt, not only inside Baner. The Orchid School, on Baner-Mahalunge Road near Balewadi Phata, is CBSE up to Class 12. A short drive away there are more CBSE schools in Balewadi and an ICSE school in Sus, and some families travel further for an IB or Cambridge programme.
That mix matters. Two children in the same Baner tower can be on NCERT textbooks and an IGCSE scheme of work, and a tutor who is strong in one may not know the other's papers. Tell every tutor the exact school, board and textbook, and ask what they are teaching in that board right now.
For CBSE, our page on CBSE home tutors covers what NCERT-based support should look like. If you need an IB tutor in Baner, read the IB tutors page and the IB vs IGCSE guide: ask any IB tutor about internal assessments and coursework, not just exam papers.
Getting a tutor to you: Baner Hill, Baner Road and the evening rush
Baner Hill sits between Baner and Pashan. A tutor who looks close on the map may live on the other side of it and have to go round by the Baner-Pashan Link Road, so ask how they will actually ride to you, not just how far away they are.
Baner Road is usually the slow part in the evening, especially around Balewadi Phata and towards the university end. A tutor coming along it from Aundh may find a 7 pm start far easier than 6 pm, while one coming from Pashan by the link road, or from Balewadi Gaon, may barely touch it. Match the slot to the route.
Metro Line 3, from Hinjewadi to Shivajinagar, is built along Baner Road. In September 2026, reports said its Baner Gaon and Baner stations would open later than most of the line, so check what is actually running before you count on it for a tutor who does not ride.
Fitting tuition around long office hours in Baner
Baner was known as a farming area until IT offices and apartment complexes moved in after 2005, and many of the towers off Baner Road and Pancard Club Road house people who work in them. If both parents in your home work long office days, decide before the demo who will be at home during sessions (a grandparent, a nanny or an older sibling) and tell the tutor up front.
Weekend mornings are worth asking about. Baner Road is far quieter then, children are fresher, and a parent who is out all week can sit in for the first few sessions. One weekday evening plus a Saturday or Sunday morning often suits a Baner family better than three rushed weeknights.
What to check before you choose a tutor in Baner
- The board and school match: ask which board their current students are on, and whether they have taught your child's textbook or programme in the last year.
- The route at your hour: over the hill from Pashan, along Baner Road from Aundh, or across from Balewadi are three different journeys at 6 pm.
- The slot through the year: will a weekday evening still work in the monsoon and in the weeks before school exams?
- The demo: watch how they explain one thing your child got wrong recently, then work through our questions to ask a home tutor.
